The immense popularity of Khor Al Maqta and its grand sights draws more tourists to the region every day. The prominent attraction is the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi.
Located in AL Qana, a waterfront destination, it is part of Abu Dhabi’s Vision 2030 to convert the capital city into a global tourism hub. Developed along the 2.4 kilometers of Al Maqta Canal, the Abu Dhabi Municipality initiated the mega project in conjunction with Al Barakah International Investments.
There are ten zones sheltering hundreds of thousands of marine wonders. First, you’ll see aquatic animals indigenous to the Eastern Arabian Peninsula and learn about the region’s pearl farming heritage. Next, you’ll explore Atlantic Cave and the Red Sea Wreck and learn about submarines at Sub. You’ll also see Abu Dhabi’s hidden island gems at Bu Tinah Island.
There are several immersive experiences to choose from. The general admission ticket offers access to underwater creatures in its ten zones, while Beyond the Glass pass allows you to go behind the scenes and enjoy a fantastic glass bridge walk. There is also a Bu Tinah Dhow ticket which covers all inclusions of a general ticket plus a magnificent glass bottom boat tour.
You can also make the most of the incredible leisure zones that constitute one of Abu Dhabi’s upscale leisure destinations. Enjoy the region’s largest cinema and look at the superb marina club providing berths for 98 mini yachts. In addition, a great family entertainment center and an exclusive indoor and outdoor sports section add to Al Qana’s premier facilities.
