Qatar Travel Mart 2024 shows Qatar’s Vision for the Future

Over 12,000 travel diginitaries and professionals from 60 countries convened in Doha, Qatar to exchange ideas and chart the future of travel at the Qatar Travel Mart 2024 (QTM 2024).

The three-day exhibition was held from November 25th to 27th at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. It highlighted Qatar’s commitment to establishing itself as a leading global tourism hub and its ongoing efforts to diversify its economy beyond oil.

The event was inaugurated by His Excellency, the Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani al-Thani, alongside HE Saad bin Ali al-Kharji, chairman of Qatar Tourism and Visit Qatar.

During his opening address, HE al-Kharji emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “The Qatar Travel Mart 2024 marks a strategic milestone in our ongoing efforts to position Qatar as a leading global tourism hub.”

“This event not only underscores the growth and potential of our tourism sector but also serves as an important platform for fostering key partnerships, driving innovation, and advancing sustainable tourism initiatives that align with Qatar’s National Vision 2030,” he added.

A global gathering

QTM 2024 featured immersive exhibits from numerous countries, each showcasing their rich cultural heritage and unique travel opportunities.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to the industry, several accolades were presented during the event. Morocco stood out by winning the prestigious Best Cultural Experience award, celebrating its ability to delight visitors with its heritage and traditions.

The event also provided valuable opportunities for networking and fostering collaboration. Attendees participated in engaging panel discussions that explored the future of travel, sustainable practices, and innovative approaches to advancing the tourism industry. These forums encouraged meaningful dialogue and actionable feedback, paving the way for a more connected and progressive global tourism landscape.

Qatar Travel Mart 2024 not only brought the world to Qatar but also showcased Qatar to the world, underscoring its growing influence in the global tourism industry. By leveraging its world-class infrastructure and hosting events like the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar continues to attract international attention. 

These events align with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, aiming to establish the country as a sustainable and inclusive travel destination. 

The success of QTM 2024 also signals exciting prospects for next year’s event. It’s scheduled to take place from November 24th to 26th, 2025. As global tourism continues to rebound, Qatar remains poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of travel.
